2009-09-12-Mt-Charleston

Mount Charleston is 40 miles north of Las Vegas and one of the top limestone climbing venues in the US. The climbing is high on the mountain and cool even when it's unbearable in the city. We had a lovely but very bizarre climbing experience. We climbed Fresh Start (5.6) Friction addiction (5.6) Unamed (5.8) Do-Do Love (5.9) and then got rained off half way up Touch of Gray (5.10a). We took refuge in infectious cave where the route are of a higher level. We saw Mike Doyle cruising up Infectious Groove (5.13b) and then working Urban Booty (5.14a), which has seen only one ascent. Stephanie Forte was also there cruising unfeasibly hard routes.
