Yes, he's really climbing it, but the quality of the ice was not great apparently. I guess it was unstable and his picks just wouldn't hold their position in the snow and ice. I think we should contact the self-defense forces and file a formal complaint regarding the quality of their sculptures. Next year let's have a little more concern about those willing to risk life and limb in climbing these frozen monuments. I hope this will be kept in mind when they make next year's sculptures. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. The next sculpture was pretty cool with a prehistoric theme. In this shot Phred's body seems to be doing some sort of weird contortions only an olympic gymnast could accomplish but actually it's someone else's leg and buttock.
